What makes a good Imposter word
The best words are concrete things that everyone at the table recognises, with several different angles for a clue. Pizza works because you can hint at Italy, cheese, delivery, Friday night or a slice. Happiness does not, because every clue is vague and the imposter blends in for free. When you build a custom pack, aim for nouns, keep them specific, and mix a few hard ones in with the easy ones.
Can you think of five clues in ten seconds that are all different? Then it is a good Imposter word. If all you can think of is one obvious clue, the round will be over in one turn.

Frequently asked questions
How many words are in Imposter?
5,600+ secret words across 95 packs. Ten packs with about 1,170 words are free; Imposter Premium unlocks the other 85 packs and every future category.
Can I add my own words?
Yes. Custom packs let you type any words you like, from inside jokes to coworkers' names, and play them exactly like the built-in packs.
Do the same words come up again?
Each round draws a fresh word from the packs you selected, so a full pack lasts many game nights before anything repeats.
What makes a good imposter word?
A concrete thing everyone at the table knows, with several angles for clues. Pizza, Airport and Guitar are great. Abstract words like Happiness or very obscure ones give the crew nothing to work with.
Are these the premium words?
No. Every list on this page comes from the free packs or was written for this guide. Premium packs like Marvel, Anime, Harry Potter and Spicy stay inside the app.
